Emma Harrysson – Shadow Traces

25 April – 17 May, Galleri LUNDBERG-SANDHAGEN

Galleri LUNDBERG-SANDHAGEN presents Shadow Traces, a solo exhibition by Emma Harrysson.

In Shadow Traces, Emma Harrysson places the shadow at the centre. Not as a consequence of light, but as a space in its own right — an active presence where the image takes form. Shadow conceals, opens, marks boundaries and shifts them. In these transitions — between light and dark, interior and exterior — a quiet interplay emerges between what is shown and what pulls away.

Harrysson's painting lives in this layer, where the visible and the withheld coexist, and where what doesn't fully appear is given weight. With a receptive and sensitive handling of shadow, light, and surface, she creates works where the intimate and the fugitive share the same space.

Something stirs behind what we can see. What remains are traces — of gazes, movements, and states of being that resist being pinned down.

Emma Harrysson (b. 1976) is based in Lund and works within a contemporary figurative painting practice where light, shadow, space, and perception carry a quiet, steady intensity.

Shadow Traces opens on 25 April and runs through 17 May.

Welcome.
