Emma Harrysson

Harrysson's painting lives in the space between the visible and the withheld — where what doesn't fully appear is given weight. With a quiet sensitivity to shadow, light, and surface, she creates works where the intimate and the fugitive share the same breath.
Something stirs behind what we can see. What remains are traces — of gazes, movements, states of being that refuse to be pinned down.
Emma Harrysson (b. 1976) is based in Lund and works within a contemporary figurative painting practice where light, shadow, space, and perception carry a low, steady intensity.
